Virgin Mary's Visitation Chapel
Virgin Mary's Visitation Chapel church Štós
This chapel is located at the junction of important tourist paths of European importance in Štóske Sedlo saddle in the elevation of 781 meters above sea level, on the borderline of cadastral territories of Stós and Smolník.

A wooden chapel could be found here as early as in 1723. It was reconstructed and consecrated as Marienkapelle in 1725. An extensive reconstruction was carried out in 1776 and since this year it has been using the new name - Mária Heimsuchungskapelle in German language, or kaplnka Navštívenia Panny Marie in Slovak.

It was badly damaged during the World War I. After a partial repair in 1920, it was consecrated anew. In 1936, new side sections were built, creating the current appearance of this chapel.
