Kúpele Štós spa was founded in 1881 by Róbert Komporday, the owner of the cutlery factory in Štós. Favourable location, the mixed forest around the object, temperature inversions and other factors contribute to good conditions for the treatment of both acute and chronic diseases of the airwaves, lungs, and bronchial asthma. The natural surroundings of the spa consist of a forest park with over 200 rare tree and bush species. A very special treatment of upper airways and allergies is offered in the nearby Jasovská Jaskyňa cave with very good results. A Finnish sauna, which is the first one built in former Czechoslovakia, is still used. At present, the spa offers also wellness holidays, aimed at relax, regeneration and the lifestyle disease prevention and treatment. Kúpele Štós a.s. spa is the only facility of this kind in the Košice self-governing region.
Visitors of the new water world can enjoy a whirlpool, a Finnish sauna, eucalyptus and a herb sauna, massages, Kneipp`s feet massage bath and a tepidarium for relaxation and physical regeneration.
