Hazelnut torte

This was the favorite birthday cake of my grandmother, Antonia Eiben Moenich (1891-1961).
1 dozen eggs
1 pound powdered sugar
1 pound finely ground hazelnuts (filberts)
1 cup fine bread crumbs
Beat eggs until thick. Gradually add powdered sugar and beat well. Alternately fold in finely ground hazelnuts and breadcrumbs. Grease three 9-inch cake tins and then line bottom with waxed paper (or parchment). Grease and flour waxed paper. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes.
Frost with whipped cream. Enjoy!
